One of the fall events we all looked forward to very much was the September 16 world premiere of The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant by the English National Opera (E.N.O.). Their season opened with a sold out performance of the opera. For the Fassbinder Team, this was a special date for more than one reason: we met not only the Irish composer of the work, Gerald Barry, but also Margit Carstensen, the original Petra.
